Friday Finds

16 Jul

Friday Finds is a weekly book meme hosted by Should Be Reading. It’s  a fun way to share books that you’ve recently discovered.

Tory Brennan, niece of acclaimed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (of the Bones novels and hit TV show), is the leader of a ragtag band of teenage “sci-philes” who live on a secluded island off the coast of South Carolina. When the group rescues a dog caged for medical testing on a nearby island, they are exposed to an experimental strain of canine parvovirus that changes their lives forever.

As the friends discover their heightened senses and animal-quick reflexes, they must combine their scientific curiosity with their newfound physical gifts to solve a cold-case murder that has suddenly become very hot if they can stay alive long enough to catch the killer’s scent.

Fortunately, they are now more than friends they’re a pack. They are Virals.

From goodreads.

Holy snappin’ turtles did I scream when I saw this upcoming book. One of my favorite authors of forever and ever coming out with a new YA series? One that combines forensic science with supernatural? Hells yeah!

This one isn’t out until November. November. That’s a long ways away.  I’ll try to wait patiently. But if someone feels like sending an ARC my way, I’m offering cookies.

From the cover I thought it was a paranormal book, but this plot actually sounds very interesting. Nice find!

Yeah, I think there may be a bit of the paranormal but the most part it looks like a great mystery.

I read this last week as part of an ARC tour, and it’s really good! I should have a mini review up next week, I don’t want to post the full one until closer to the release date.
